This vanilla bean powder is made from the ground whole beans that have been picked and sundried to preserve their rich aromatic nature. The unique flavour is smooth and creamy. Vanilla bean powder offers the same intense aromatic notes that the pods are renowned for, but in a more convenient form. Our vanilla is grown without artificial fertilises or pesticides, however the plantation is not formerly certified as organic. Although not many plantations have formal organic certification, the farmers have no need to use pesticides or fertilisers on the orchids that produce the vanilla pods.
How to Use You can use vanilla bean powder in any dessert or recipe that calls for whole beans or vanilla essence. Add a pinch to smoothies and protein shakes for a lovely rich flavour boost, or sprinkle just a little in coffee, chai or hot chocolate for added indulgence. Vanilla powder is great in homemade ice-cream, yoghurt, custard and sauces. It is delicious in baked goods including cakes, biscuits, muffins and fruit crumbles. Add a ¼ of a teaspoon of this powder to stewed fruit or compote, or dust over fresh berries. This versatile spice can also be used in savoury recipes, including soups and curries.
